The
founders of U
U, (which includes the Uskincare, Uhaircare and Uspa
range of products), and its philosophy have been
developed by George and Vanessa Jilly.
George and Vanessa have devoted themselves for more
than fifteen years to developing treatments and
products which are based on the therapeutic benefits
of herbs and plants. The inspiration for uspa however
has come from the many thousands of visitors to
U concept Spas who after each treatment felt mentally
and physically soothed and rejuvenated - Beauty
stems from a state of mind.
George was brought up in a Hungarian household where
the natural healing powers inherent in innumerable
herbs and plants were well understood and appreciated.
These botanical remedies often presented the most
effective household way to cure many afflictions,
from fever bouts and colds to sun burn and other
skin irritations. His positive childhood experiences
gave George sufficient affinity for botanical solutions
and eventually led him to study Botany at tertiary
level.
Vanessa, herself a trained nurse and massage therapist,
strongly shares George's belief in botanical alternatives.
Vanessa's conviction has been strongly influenced
as a result of observing many hospital patients
becoming seemingly dependent on synthetic medicines
which adversely affect one's natural immune system.
George and Vanessa have travelled widely in search
of reconciling their philosophy with their daily
working lives. During one of their travels, while
in Minnesota, USA, they were fortunate to be invited
by a tribal elder to partake in a Native American
Indian purification ceremony, called a 'Sweat Lodge'.
The experience profoundly affected both and has
provided a strong emotional underpinning to their
endeavours to find and develop natural solutions
and alternative therapies designed to reacquaint
us with Mother Earth and her immense botanical resources.
George and Vanessa Jilly believe that nobody should
waste money, time and effort on skin or hair care
that ignores the vital role of botanicals in the
rescue and rejuvenation of exhausted skin and hair.
The Jillys' strongly believe there is only one real
alternative to chemically synthesised beauty products,
and through the U range of products offer you superior
skin and hair care that is truly botanical in nature.
